Bombermaaan is a remake of the classic 80’s game Bomberman. The game involves you playing a character that is trapped in a labyrinth, and setting of bombs in order to escape and kill your opponents. As you play and get further into the game, you can unlock additional power-ups to make the game easier; these include extra bombs, more speed and the ability to remotely control the bombs. You can play Bombermaaan with friends – the game allows up to 5 people to play at the same time, on the same computer, with the option of using keyboard or joysticks (or both).
The base game is limited to 8 levels. But additional levels can be downloaded from the developer’s website (150 extra levels in the pack), so that you don’t finish the game quickly and to provide maximum enjoyment. Bombermaaan keeps the feel of the original game, with similar design, graphics, sound effects and gameplay – this is great for those who grew up playing similar games in the 80’s and those who enjoy the retro feel, but gamers who are used to playing only modern games may find it limiting and frustrating. Due to the game being graphically basic, it requires minimum system resources, so it won’t slow down your computer or use up a load of memory.
