Ivory II is the next generation version of Synthogy's virtual piano engine that drives our Ivory Grand Pianos, Ivory Italian Grand and Ivory Upright Pianos products. A host of new features have been added to the Ivory II engine including Sympathetic String Resonance, a sought after but elusive characteristic of real pianos that Synthogy approaches in a completely new and unique way to realize the true complexities and subtleties of sympathetic string excitation.
Ivory II also addresses Synthogy's most frequent customer requests with features like Half Pedaling, Lid Position, Pedal Noise, and Tuning Tables to deliver the most detail and control available in a virtual piano. Additional features like Timbre Shifting, Parametric EQ, and new Synth Layer control offer powerful new sound sculpting capabilities for custom piano programming and sound design.
The new version also features further development of each Ivory piano including more velocity levels (up to 18 per piano), more soft pedal samples, more release samples, with greater fidelity and refinement than ever before, surpassing Ivory's already unmatched playability. Steinway Model B Grand Piano

The Steinway B is one of the most recorded pianos in history, and one of the most often requested piano models from Ivory customers. Its unique balance of size and power make it extremely versatile instrument for all styles of music. Steinway refers to it as 'the perfect piano'.

This particular Steinway B was hand selected with the cooperation of Steinway & Sons at the Steinway factory in Astoria, New York. One of Steinway's own top concert technicians prepared, regulated and voiced the instrument expressly for the sampling session, and provided on-site tuning throughout the entire recording session.

The recording venue was the classic tuned live room of Power Station NE, a nail for nail acoustic replica of the famed Power Station/Avatar New York. With Mark Donahue engineering the recording, Synthogy's expert team captured every nuance of this instrument in exacting detail.

Boasting a 112GB library, Ivory II Studio Grands is the largest Ivory product yet. Each piano includes up to 24 velocity levels, with more release samples, and soft pedal samples for greater sampling detail than any Ivory instrument to date.

Ivory 2.5 Piano Engine

Ivory II-Studio Grands ships with the Ivory 2.5 Piano Engine. This update supports PACE's machine-based license authorization scheme as well as the traditional PACE iLok key. Additionally, the Ivory 2.5 Piano Engine includes new features, such as:
